Should I clean my baby’s teeth?
  Use a soft-bristled toothbrush with a small head and use a thin smear of fluoridated toothpaste.   Try to find one designed specifically for infants. It should be used at least once a day at bedtime. 

When should I take my child to dentist for the first check-up?
  Your child should have a dental check up with a pediatric dentist at age 1.


Is thumbsucking and pacifier habits harmful for a child’s teeth?
  This only becomes a problem if the habit goes on for a very long time. Most children give up these habits on their own, but if they continue until their permanent teeth arrive, a mouth appliance may be recommended.


How can I prevent baby bottle decay?
 Avoid nursing your children to sleep, or putting anything other than water in their bed-time bottle. 

How safe are dental X-Rays?
 There is very little risk in dental X-Rays. Pediatric dentists are especially careful to limit the amount of radiation to which your child is exposed. Lead aprons and high-speed film are used to ensure safety. 

How do sealants work?
 Sealants fill in the crevasses of the chewing services of the teeth. This keeps food particles from getting caught in the teeth that could cause cavities.




Should my teen see a Pediatric Dentist?
  Just because your teenager isn’t a child anymore, doesn’t mean she should stop seeing her pediatric dentist. Dentistry to meet the special needs of teens and adolescents is an important part of the specialize training for pediatric dentists. Growing does not stop in childhood – teens experience important growth in their faces and jaws. Teens are also getting the last of their permanent teeth, and teeth that have just come through the gums are especially vulnerable to decay. Additionally, teenagers start becoming responsible for their own diet and nutrition choices, and it is important that these choices come from a solid foundation of dental health.
